Golden Sands Speedway has added some new events to our 2009 season schedule.

In May we will be featuring an Air-Bag Demonstration and a Motorcycle Wheelie Contest. Also along with the Mid-American Touring Series on May 22nd, we will have Armed Forces Night, in which all Military personnel showing their Military ID will receive one $5 grandstand admissions.

The Wisconsin Challenge Series Memorial 100 will race on Memorial Day, May 25th, featuring Wisconsin Sport Trucks, Vintage Cars, Cruisers, and our very first Figure 8 Race. May 29th will be Chicken Night! Drivers will be paired up with fans for a driver/fan egg toss contest, specials on chicken sandwiches, and many prizes.

In June we will be having our Kid’s Mega Bike Giveaway, a Go-Till-It Blows Contest featuring Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge, Figure 8’s Bus Races, and Cruisers. June 19th will be Fiesta Night, featuring concession specials, special prizes, and some exciting driver sombrero dancing! Along with the annual Cranberry Blossom Festival, Friday June 26th will be the Cranberry Cup Mid-Season Championships! There will be special fan involved racing, cranberry contests plus much more!

The first Friday in July will be our Annual Union night with some of the best Fireworks around! Kwik Trip Special Olympic night will be held on July 10th, and the Team Schierl Companies Night on July 17th. July 24th will be our Christmas in July Event! Santa is coming early this year! The Sands 100 Wisconsin Challenge Series Race will be held at the end of July with Skid Car Races.

August will show a Trial Riders Demonstration, our Annual Fan Appreciation Night, and our Annual Kid’s Night featuring Kid’s Stock Car Rides. We will also be having Dukes of Hazzard Night August 28th! Get your picture taken with the General Lee, enter in the Daisy Duke Look-Alike Contest, and watch some great country boy stunts!

September will feature our Season Championships with fireworks, and the ever popular WRECK FEST ’09 (formally known as the Eve of Devastation) with trailer races, forward/backwards races plus some really cool new surprises.
